Characters with scouters would automatically be able to detect them. The game would untarget your opponent if you lost sight of them and there was a button you would press to look for them. Future Gohan even had a costume that gave him his lost arm back! Piccolo had every variation with/without his cape and turban. I think Goku had 10 alternate costumes (some with only different writing on his gi which I had never noticed before, others with battleworn/torn clothes). The number of unique characters still dwarfs that of most games.Īnyways, you could feel the love that developers had for Dragon Ball Z with the insane number of costumes and maps they included to ensure that every battle from the show could be faithfully recreated. The copy/pasting was generally relegated to low profile and no name characters who would not have appeared in the game otherwise. *Before people come in to say that many of the characters were copy/pasted, I am aware of that, but do not care. The gameplay perfectly captured the fast paced and destructive battles of Dragon Ball Z. It had almost every character* that you could think of from Dragon Ball up to the Dragon Ball GT battling in fully destructible maps. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is the greatest Dragon Ball Z simulator of all time.
